Introduction to Whisky Tasting - Bath
Discover one of the world’s great spirits at our whisky tasting evening.
Here we will explore the heartlands of whisky, discovering some of the great regions of Scotland and how each makes a unique and distinctive style. From the heather covered highlands to the sea spray weathered islands we find out exactly how the flavour of whisky is influenced by its surroundings and the people who make it.
However, that is not the whole story of whisky! America, Ireland, Japan and Canada (and even England and Wales) also produce world class whisk(e)y and this tasting will endeavour give you a flavour of some of these country’s version of this magnificent spirit.
So join us on an international tour, exploring the story and flavours of whisky from Scotland and the world.
On this tasting you will:
- learn how to taste whisky like a professional
- sample different drams from Scotland and elsewhere
- learn the definitions of differing alcohol strengths, e.g. 'cask strength'
- learn about the different production methods and maturation types/lengths for malt whisky
